Volunteering at Mighty Hikes
Our 15 Mighty Hikes this year will see tens of thousands of hikers raise millions of pounds, to help support people living with cancer. By volunteering, you are helping show support and solidarity with all our amazing hikers raising money and supporting us to do whatever it takes to support people living with cancer.
You’ll be involved in a variety of ways which at our start venues could include: greeting participants as they arrive, handing out registration numbers, or supporting on our pop up shop selling Macmillan merchandise. At our finish venues, your role could include: capturing photo memories for participants at our finishers’ wall, selling our participants a memento from our pop up shop, or congratulating our finishers across the line with a medal, a glass of fizz and a huge cheer.
With 3 million people in the UK now living with cancer, Macmillan's role has never been more crucial. The support provided by Macmillan volunteers is integral to helping us to be there for people with cancer.
What we provide
As soon as you arrive, one of our friendly event staff will brief you on what you’ll be doing throughout the day. We’ll also provide hot drinks and food, a Mighty Hikes tabard, a great atmosphere and a chance to meet other amazing volunteers.
