Registration

How much is the registration fee?

The registration fee for the full marathon is £25, and for the half marathon is £20. You pay your registration fee online upon completing the registration form. The registration fee is non-refundable.

How much do I have to raise?

For the full marathon and the half marathon we ask everyone to pledge to raise £250 to support people living with cancer. Click on Your Hike in the navigation bar where we have lots of useful information and resources to help you get started.

When do I have to sign up by?

The deadline to register for the Thames Path Mighty Hike is midnight on Friday 3 July or when the event sells out.

Can I transfer between the full and half marathon distances?

You are unable to transfer between the marathon and half-marathon distances. If you wish to change distance you will need to cancel your place and register again. Once re-registered your fundraising can be transferred to your new registration.

Team Registration

Is there a discount for teams?

There is a 10% discount on the registration fee for teams of 5+. The discount code is generated when you complete the registration form which you need to enter in the promotional code box before proceeding to payment.

How do I register a team?

  1. Appoint a Team Captain who will complete the first online registration. N.B. the Team Captain will receive essential information about your team registration so must be someone who can easily access their emails and is happy to coordinate the team.
  2. Make sure the Team Captain has a list of all the names and email addresses of the people in the team before registering. Once the Team Captain has completed the first online registration, each team member will receive an invitation email to complete their own online registration.
  3. The Team Captain can pay the registration fee for as many members of the team as they like or just themselves. If the Team Captain doesn’t pay your registration fee you will be asked to pay this when you complete your own registration form.
  4. On the booking form, the Team Captain will choose the start time which will be reserved for the whole team.
  5. The Team Captain will also choose their parking and shuttle arrangements; however, this does not apply to the whole team. Each team member will be asked to choose their personal parking and shuttle arrangements upon registration.
  6. Once the Team Captain has completed the team registration, all members of the team will receive an invitation email with a link to their own registration form.
  7. Please complete your registration and booking form as soon as possible. We will hold your team start time but parking is allocated on a first-come first-served basis.
  8. The Team Captain will receive a confirmation email each time a member of the team completes their registration, which will allow you to monitor who has and has not joined the team.

How do I add more members to my team?

The Team Captain will receive a unique registration link in their confirmation email which can be forwarded on to any new individual who wants to join the team. Please note that the team start time may not be available if all places have been filled.

What parking is available for the full marathon?

Parking is available at the start at Windsor Racecourse and at the finish at Temple Island Meadows, Remenham and you can book this through the registration form.

If you park at the finish at Temple Island Meadows, Remenham, complimentary shuttles will be running to the start from 6.40am – 8.55am. It’s a 30-minute drive so leave plenty of time to make it for your start. If you park at the start at Windsor Racecourse, complimentary shuttles will be running from the finish back to the start from 4pm until 10.30pm.

What parking is available for the half marathon?

Parking is available at the start at Windsor Racecourse which you can book when you register. 

Complimentary coaches will be running from Marsh Meadow back to Windsor Racecourse from 1pm to 5pm. 



Can I get there by public transport?

It is a 10-minute taxi ride from Windsor & Eton Riverside and Windsor & Eton Station to the start at Windsor Racecourse. For the full marathon, complimentary coaches will run from the finish at Temple Island Meadows, Remenham, to Henley Station until 10pm.

What time does the hike start?

The full marathon will set off in waves 20 minutes apart, between 8.10am and 10.30am.

The half marathon will set off in waves 20 minutes apart between 10.50am and 11.10am. 

What time does registration open?

Registration will be open between 5pm and 8pm on Friday 17 July and will re-open between 7.10am and 10.10am on Saturday 18 July.

What time should I arrive in the morning?

We ask everyone to arrive one hour before their start time and no earlier.

How long does it take to complete the hike?

We estimate that the fastest full marathon walkers will finish in 7.5 hours while the slowest walkers could take around 12.5 hours. Due to venue restrictions we have to start closing our finish area at 10pm.

We estimate that the fastest half marathon walkers will finish in 4 hours while the slowest walkers could take around 6 hours. Due to venue restrictions we have to start closing our finish area at 6pm.

Therefore, when you choose your start time, please select an earlier wave if you consider yourself a slower walker and a later wave if you consider yourself a faster walker.
